This policy explains how Unknown Sender (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you use this website or book a game. We comply with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

Unknown Sender is operated by Treadwell21, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16996311), with registered address at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.

Treadwell21 is the data controller for the personal information collected through this website and the Unknown Sender app. For any privacy-related questions, contact hello@unknownsender.co.uk.

What we collect

  • Email address (waitlist signup, booking confirmation)
  • Team name (part of your booking, may appear on the public leaderboard)
  • Payment information, processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
  • Limited technical information from your device (analytics, if you’ve consented)

Why we collect it

  • To fulfil your booking and deliver the experience
  • To send booking confirmations and safety information
  • To display leaderboards for the games you’ve played (team name only)
  • To process payments through Stripe
  • To let you know about new games and cities (waitlist only, with consent)
  • To meet legal and accounting obligations

Who we share it with

  • Stripe (payment processing)
  • Brevo (email delivery)
  • Supabase (database hosting)
  • Cloudflare (site hosting)
  • Google Analytics and Google Ads (only if you’ve given marketing consent)

We do not sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

Waitlist emails are retained until you unsubscribe. Booking records are retained for the period required by UK tax and accounting law (currently six years). Leaderboard scores are retained indefinitely as part of the public game record; team names are pseudonymous.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, and to object to certain processing. Email hello@unknownsender.co.uk to exercise any of these rights. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

We use cookies in three categories: Necessary (always on), Analytics (Google Analytics 4, only if accepted) and Marketing (Google Ads and similar, only if accepted). We use Google Tag Manager and Google Consent Mode v2 to ensure nothing non-essential fires before you consent. Change your preferences any time using Cookies in the footer.
